Wow! This is a great start of 2010. DeskAway, one of our portfolio companies, founded by Sahil Parikh has been listed by the IndianWeb2 blog as one of the top Indian startups of 2009.

Ankit Maheshwari & Sahil Parikh nominated as Asia’s most inspiring young entrepreneurs

The ‘Foundation of Youth Social Entrepreneurship’ (FYSE) recently announced the fellowship to 100 entrepreneurs from 20 countries across Asia. Amongst them were two founders of Morpheus Venture Partners’ portfolio companies viz. Ankit Maheshwari of InstaBlogs & Sahil Parikh of Deskaway:

Ankit, 30, started Instablogs in 2006, an online media company with it’s roots in citizen’s journalism.

Sahil, 30, co-founded Deskaway in 2005, a leading provider of web-based project collaboration application.

The fellowship is given to “Asia’s most inspiring young entrepreneurs and social changemakers.”
The FYSE is a regional organisation dedicated to inspiring and empowering young people to make innovative suggestions and actions to create positive change and real impact in their communities, their countries and Asia as a whole.

Scopial listed as one of the Top 25 promising e-commerce company

The SmartTechie magazine published it’s annual list of successful & promising companies who are paving the way for e-commerce in India. Amongst the 25, Scopial, a Morpheus Venture Partner portfolio company is also listed.

The ST Magazine writes:

The jury consisting of accomplished CEOs, CIOs, Venture Capitalists, and analysts including the SmartTechie Editorial team worked hard to decide on top 25 companies from over 140 nominations received.

Robots Alive featured on Indian Express Newspaper

Abheek and his team are currently on a 5-city Robotics Roadshow. While they were enroute Bangalore, Indian Express newspaper did a nice feature on the company.

A Robotics start-up incubated at the National Institute of Design (NID) in Ahmedabad is now on a road show. Robots Alive, as the set-up is called, is visiting campuses across the country in the hope of pitching its robotic arm as a learning tool for students to learn how to make robots.
